Swatch Bharat Cess

Introduction

A new cess known as Swatch Bharat Cess [SBC] has been introduced w.e.f. 15-Nov-15. Let us understand how ERP One handles this new levy.

Excise Rates Master

• In Excise Rates Master, you will see a new parameter : Is Swatch Bharat Cess Applicable?  When a new rate is being added, select [Yes] if applicable.

• In case there is an abatement against this rate, specify the percentage here.

• In Sales Orders, S type purchase bills and debit / credit notes, you may select the appropriate service tax code, on which SBC needs to be applied.
• System would work out SBC and add it in the value of the document.

• While printing of invoices and/or debit credit notes, System shows SBC separately.

Accounting Entries

• In the GL, the amount of SBC is automatically shown separately.
